  • So much to blog about...long blog this time... so if you don't read it, understandable... no pictures either... I will work on that.

Still going strong with the crunches and added push-ups too.  Not sure if I will ever have Janet Jackson abs nor want them.  She is a little too burly for me nowadays.

FOOTBALL: Still marvelling over how great the end of that Boise State-OU game was.  Shocked by the OSU-Florida game.  When Flex Wheeler 2nd told me that Florida was dominating (at half-time) I kept saying "No really, what is the score?"  Allen and I both thought of our friend Sam who went to OSU.  Felt sadder for Sam then the Heisman winner.

GOD SIGHTING (Lighthouse terminology): I was remind of my favorite country song in high school (Angels Among Us by Alabama).  It's about unexpected people who come to help you when you are in need.  I was travelling home from work yesterday (it took me 2.5 hours)... when I was going UP the last hill leading to our house, I made the fateful error of slowing and eventually stopping for a car coming in the other direction... then my wheels just started spinning and I started to think over my options (leave the car and walk home or try get over the little ditch I made from stopping by getting under the car and scraping away some of the snow and ice).  From the side of the road a guy walks over to me, tells me he has salt to put in front of my tires (I thought "Wow, this is definitely an angel among us), then four other guys come to help out and push me out of the icy spot that I was in!  They were helping half a dozen of us that I could see!  Truly amazing!

QUESTION TO PONDER (respond if you have insight): A good girlfriend of mine wrote me and asked "Should I focus my energies on finding someone or should I just let it happen?" This is a pretty common question that we ask each other in our young 20s but now as we enter our 30s do people's responses differ?  Back in our 20s many guys would say, "I wouldn't want to date a girl that was too assertive."  I started to conclude that guys wanted a challenge and wanted a little chase.  But I wonder if single guys feel any differently now.  Would a guy mind a girl showing interest, pursuing, and asking them out?  Do guys worry more about baggage at our later age?  Would there be a negative opinion about a woman who actively pursues dating people to find Mr. Right?

My answer to the question is to keep your options open.  If you find a guy you find interesting, let him know.  I think it is admirable when I meet women who know what they want and go after it.  Just don't bring your baggage or overly high expectations to dating arena.  But don't give up characteristics that makes you love and respect yourself for the sake of a guy either.  Pray about it.  I know a bunch of women who have prayed for life partners and have been blessed with them.  Would like to hear what other people think.  My girlfriend reads this blog, so she would be able to read your comments too

  • Just got back from my brother's place... thoughts on the evening...
    * Feeling bittersweet after the Hawks victory tonight.
    * Glad the home team won but I feel bad for Tony Romo (QB for the Cowboys)... the after game conference with him was brutal, it felt like a Barbara Walters special where the main goal was to try to make him cry!  Imagined the worst... like how in a few years he could become this washed up, alcoholic, former QB or imagined another T.O. episode with prescription drugs.
    * There were 10 kids there tonight... no mothers... fathers watching the game... lots of screaming... a quick easy recipe for eventual headache.

  • It's amazing all that you can get done if you wake up earlier in the morning.

New Year's Resolution #2: Getting back in touch with old friends... check.  Well this is a work in progress.  Sent out a few feeler emails to see what the response would be like.

New Year's Resolution #3: Try to find some Janet Jackson abs underneath all the soft stuff... check.  Another work in progress but have been doing crunches faithfully every night (these past 3 nights).

New Year's Resolution #4: Less procrastinating... check... I think.  Been trying to nail down dates to get together with people instead of leaving it open ended.

Bummed out... my school was annihilated on Fox last night.  But how many schools do you know get 16 million to get humiliated on tv?

  • New Year's Resolution #1: To get back on xanga and blog about life and such... check.  Let's hope I can blog more than once a year or once every 2 years!

I have been on hiatus for such a long time because I was
IN SCHOOL... after 2 years of know-how on cleaning teeth, restoring teeth, playing with needles, and teaching people how to brush and floss, endless group projects, and good times in between, I passed 6 board exams, graduated, and got a license to practice too
GETTING MARRIED... met through mutual friends, not so much "wining" but "dining", laughing together every day, long, significant conversations about life and love, meeting friends and families, got the ring under a starry night proposal, planned it, showed up in Maui, said "I do", had numerous receptions with families (Texas, Boston, and Portland), and now happily ever after... we have one more reception to plan but that will be more like a big party with friends...
LOOKING FOR WORK... had to make sure license was official, started back with my old boss before school 2 days a week, through the grace of God found another day a week at a periodontist's office, and more of His grace led me to a stint where I temp regularly at an office VERY close to our house
MOVING... spent a couple of weeks with a realtor but found a cool place online, inspection, offer, accetance, still organizing and sprucing up the place, planning to have people over within the next few months...will hopefully be the party/reception with friends in Seattle.

  • I was talking to Flex Wheeler 2nd and decided that it was about time for me to blog.  I can't believe that's it's been so long since I blogged last.  Some of the standout things over the past few months:

July: Car accident.  Some people are quite devious.  It took forever to settle!  If you ever want to get out of a hit and run situation, leave a note, then when the person calls you about it, say that you didn't do it.  Doesn't make sense to you?  Yes, I think the woman was crazy too but she was going to get away with it, but her pastor intervened (she worked for a church) and all was well months later.

August: I think this was the month that I got into volleyball.  Either this month or September but I think it was August :)  It's fun and is a game that you can learn at a late age but still gain proficiency.  It's a good team sport and you don't have to be tall or extraordinarily athletic to play it either :)

September: I started school.  This was the beginning of my re-entry into nerd-dom.  I study all the time!

October: More school.  Ken Jennings is still winning!  I can't believe it!  Oh ya, LOST is such a great show.  If you don't watch it, you should give it a try!  You should start with episode one... I bet you'll get hooked.  Watching lots of football.  Went to a Seahawks game, it was awesome!  ND is doing okay.  They'll get a bowl game this year.  Texas is doing awesome too.  I learned how to do that "hook em" gesture.  If you don't know what that is, find someone from UTexas, they will be glad to show you.

November: Can you believe those Sonics?  Since I am not a bandwagon jumper, I suppose I will continue to marvel from afar.  Shocked by the presidency too.  People keep telling me that they miss Bill.  Other than that, life is good, God is even better, and I don't really have much to complain about :)
